Burchard, Pablo

He was born in 1919 in Santiago Chile and was the son of the famous artist Pablo Burchard Eggeling (Nov 1875 – July 1964) and grandson of the world reknowned architect Teodoro Burchard Haeberle. He primarily painted in the region of Santiago his entire life and was considered to be a hyper realist in his style. His work is in the permanent collection of the OAS Art Museum of the Americas. His choice of medium included oils and mixed media including natural substances such as sand and stone. He visited the United States for a brief period in the 1940’s to continue his education at Columbia University and also spent some time in and out of Long Island. He visited and painted in Mexico and Spain and then returned to Santiago where he spent the remainder of his painting career until his death in 1992.
